Best place in Godfrey or Alton. Amazing staff, awesome food. This place is a home run!

Delicious breakfast, great service & clean. A group of ten of us really enjoyed our stop.

First time here the food was amazing and the staff was awesome I will definitely be coming back. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. It's a true country diner. Love this place.

Stopped by here for breakfast. Have eaten here a few times over the past couple of years. My wife use to eat here when her grandparents lived down the road. Inside is nicely decorated for a old style inn feeling. Was greeted as we walked in and told to sit where we wanted. Staff was friendly and the food was good. While we were eating one of the waitresses, not ours, decided that she needed to fill the jelly holders on everyone's table that was there eating. Ours was missing only three jelly containers. Didn't really understand the urgency for that since it was sitting by my plate of food. Overall it was a nice visit, our waitress was friendly and we will definitely go back again.

This takes the cake as my new favorite breakfast spot! Absolutely what I want from a diner breakfast. The chocolate chip pancakes were delicious (it's been so long since I've had pancakes this good) and the corned beef hash and potatoes was excellent too. Our server was attentive and sweet, and the place is pretty quiet and relaxing. (Even with our very large group.) It's not too crowded or loud. Not to mention, you can get breakfast all day, I'm pretty sure.

Always great service and great food go check them out. Try the BLT salad. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Good ol' down home country feel. Enjoyed breakfast. The chicken fried steak was good. My wife like the biscuits and gravy. Her breakfast included a nice thick cut piece of ham. Service was good.

Great spot for breakfast or lunch. It's a classic roadside dinner with good Home made food. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend stopping in for a nice lazy Sunday morning. You will not be disappointed. They also provide fresh donuts from a local shop.

This diner is, delicious and delightful. It is down-home, comfortable and affordable. If I lived in this area, this definitely would be my go to place for breakfast. After a fun-filled Saturday with family, that included lots of liquor, we all need a hearty breakfast Sunday morning. I searched Yelp, but my cousins knew about Clifton Country Inn. They also knew I would enjoy it and they were so right. I didn't go back and check, but I swear the kitchen at CCIR has to be filled with a team of Grandma's and mother's cooking. It was homestyle cooking at its' best. The breakfast menu was fairly extensive and satisfied all the cravings of our group of 7. When eating breakfast at a diner, especially a country one, I always have to order a side of Biscuits & Gravy. It's the country farm boy that is still deep inside of me. I want to see how fluffy the biscuits are and how thick and creamy they make the milk gravy. I lucked out here, because ordering the #2 - Country Inn Sampler, I got the best of everything. This hearty breakfast came with two eggs, a sampling of all three meats; bacon, sausage and ham and Hash Browns. If that wasn't enough, it also included one big biscuit smothered in Sausage milk gravy. This ole farm boy was in hog heaven. My eggs were scrambled fluffy, the sausage patty had a peppery taste, my sampling of ham was fork tender and the bacon and hash browns were both crisp - the way I like'm. Most important, the biscuit was house made and the gravy was chuck full of sausage crumblings. Two of the other entrees, I'll make mention of are the omelette and pancake. I joked that I can hardly finish a three egg omelet in the city and here, they boast a 4 egg. I was also impressed that they offered a whole grain pancake. It wasn't oversized, just big enough to enjoy with a side of bacon. The ambiance is simple, it is as if you were eating in the breakfast room of a country home. The service was attentive and non-rushed. It made for a very relaxing and enjoyable meal. If you are in the Grafton and Alton area and it is time for breakfast or lunch, give this place a try.
